I have had it checked by the College Tech people who have helped hundreds of people with Zoom.
In Zoom I have tested the mic and headphones. Both work in Zoom, even though the music stops. On Microsoft, I have allowed all permissions for Zoom to use. Either stopping the music or leaving it going, I go into Zoom and the sound stops period, stops, no sound in the headphones. In Zoom I share the Computer and Sound. In Zoom, the sound source for the headphones is selected and the volume maxed.
